Bret Gallo founded Gallo Solutions, LLC in August of 2021.
After earning his bachelors of science in Environmental Engineering from Montana Tech in 2004, he started his career in the oil patch working for Halliburton Energy Services as a Production Enhancement Engineer. He was based out of Vernal, UT performing hydraulic fracturing stimulation jobs in the Uintah Basin, UT. He also gained a large amount of experience overseeing stimulation jobs in the Green River Basin (Jonah Field and Pinedale Anticline) in WY and the DJ and Piceance Basins in CO. The jobs were primarily slick water, hydrochloride acid, CO2, nitrogen, CobraMax, CobraFrac, and pinpoint stimulations.
In 2006, Bret started his air quality consulting career with Bison Engineering, Inc. He was able to take his oil and gas industry experience, combined with this education in environmental engineering and begin working with oil and gas companies primarily located in eastern Montana in the Elm Coulee field and the Cedar Creek Anticline (CCA). The shale revolution had just begun and the understanding of the emissions associated with the high gas-to-oil (GOR) formations was in its infancy. He assisted numerous clients with complying with Montana Department of Environmental Quality's (MTDEQ) first oil and gas air quality registration program in 2006 and worked continuously with industry and the MTDEQ help create an air program that was defensible and practical.
With a growing client base, he expanded a crossed the borders into North Dakota (Williston Basin and CCA) and Wyoming (Powder River Basin), assisting clients with all facets of air quality compliance, from air permitting to boots on the ground site inspections. Bret was highly involved in assisting the then North Dakota Dept. of Health (now DEQ) and operators with understanding the emissions in North Dakota through the Bakken VOC Taskforce.
Many operators also have operations within the boundaries of the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation, which is under the jurisdiction of Region 8 of the EPA. He worked with clients to give input on the promulgation of the Federal Implementation Program for Oil and Natural Gas Well Production Facilities located on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation.
For almost two decades, Bret has worked within the oil and gas industry assisting clients with environmental solutions and has been a passionate advocate for the industry, as he understands the need for producing the vital natural resources that provide the products we need to survive as humans. He dedicates much of his time striving to be knowledgeable and involved at a high level in industry associations and stakeholder groups to assist upper management of companies with the realistic difficulties and logistics of managing and sustaining environmental compliance not only at a field level, but also at a corporate level.
Because the industry is so dynamic, keeping up-to-date with the ever changing environmental regulations/technologies and effectively applying and implementing them in the oil and gas industry is very challenging, yet very rewarding professionally.
